Rules of Cinque Terre Passion Ride 2025
Roles and cost
- Meeting point: Saturday 05 April 2025 at 7:00 am
- Departure: 9:00 a.m.
- Departure and arrival: La Spezia – Piazza Europa
1) EVENT
The event is a bicycle touring event with a timed section.
Single route: 55.7 km – difference in altitude 967 m
2) PARTICIPATION
The event is open to both F.C.I. members and Sports Promotion Bodies that have signed an agreement with the F.C.I. for the year 2025 (ACSI, AICS, CSAIN, CSEN, CSI, LIBERTAS, US ACLI, UISP, OPES and ASI) and cycle-tourists of both sexes.
Competitors, i.e. athletes competing for the classification of the timed section, must present a specific certificate of fitness for competitive cycling – certificates for other types of sport such as triathlon, duathlon, athletics, etc. will not be accepted.
Cycle-tourists will be given a different coloured number to enable them to be identified along the route by the signalling staff. No ranking will be drawn up on arrival.
Participation is subject to regular possession of the following requirements:
For agonists (athletes who will be included in the ranking for the timed section) certificate of fitness̀ for competitive cycling (certificates for other types of sport such as triathlon, duathlon, athletics, etc. are not valid);
For cycle tourists (athletes who will not be included in the classification for the timed section):
non-competitive fitness certificate.
The Organising Committee may at any time and at its sole discretion decide whether or not to accept an entry or exclude an entrant from the event if it may damage its image.
Time limit for completion of the route at 1 p.m.
3) REGISTRATIONS
The individual entry fee is set at:
- For agonists:
- Until 31/03/2025 € 25.00
- From 01/04/2025 € 35.00
- For cycle tourists:
- Until 31/03/2025 € 20.00
- From 01/04/2025 € 30,00
Online registration for the event can be made on the website www.cinqueterrepassionride.it by clicking on the SIGN UP link which will transfer you to the registration platform.
4) RACE NUMBER
The start is scheduled for 5 April at 9 a.m. according to the grids as defined below:
- For competitive cyclists: from no. 1 to no. 100 (race number with chip)
- For cycle tourists: from no. 101 onwards (race number without chip)
The grids will open at 8:00 a.m.
Before the start, the organising committee staff will control access to the starting grids.
5) CRONOMETRAGGIO
Timing will be carried out by Real Time with disposable chips.
6) RACE PACKAGES
Each participant must report to the start line on Saturday 5 April from 07:00 to 08:30 for verification of certificates, collection of race number and race pack.
7) MEETING POINT and DEPARTURE
The meeting point is set for Saturday 05 April from 7 am in Piazza Europa.
The start will be from Piazza Europa, where the starting grids will open at 8 am
It is compulsory to respect the Road Code.
8) MAXIMUM ARRIVAL TIME
Maximum time of arrival by 1 p.m.
9) RANKINGS AND PRIZE-GIVING
At the end of the competition, separate rankings will be published for female and male categories.
The prize-giving for the overall classification of each route will be for the first 5
classified men and women.
10) ADMITTED BIKES
Competitors: All bicycles are allowed except for e-bikes.
Cycle-tourists (no timekeeping): all bicycles are allowed.
11) PROGRAMME
Saturday 5 April
- 7 am Registration opening and race packet collection
- 8.30 am Closing time for entries
- 9 am Departure 1st Cinque Terre Passion Ride
- 1 pm Expected arrival of last competitor
- 1 pm Refreshments
- 1.30 pm Award ceremony
12) RULES
Although this is a race with rankings and scores, it is first and foremost an amateur event that takes place on roads open to traffic. Therefore, participants must keep to the right and respect the rules of the road. For anything not covered, the UISP regulations apply.
The organisation declines all liability before, during and after the event.
Those who do not pass through the control points positioned along the route will be excluded from the rankings.
It is compulsory to wear a helmet approved for cycling.
13) REFRESHMENTS
Refreshments will be provided by the organisation staff along the route.
14) MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
Medical assistance includes the presence of ambulances with doctors and staff medical staff.
15) VARIATIONS TO THE REGULATIONS
The organisation reserves the right to make any changes to these regulations.

17) RIGHTS AND DUTIES
Participants must visibly affix the number to their handlebars, provided by the organisation, and be equipped with a chip if they wish to participate in the rankings. The numbers provided by the organisation may not be changed or in any way altered, under penalty of disqualification.
It is compulsory to use a rigid helmet APPROVED for cycling and properly fastened throughout the whole duration of the race and to comply with the ROAD CODE.
If participants should stray or decide to turn back on their own autonomously, the organisation will not be responsible, and participants will be no more under event insurance coverage.
Those who will not be in the GRID 10 (Ten) minutes before the start will automatically be placed in the last starting grid. It is recommended to bring a puncture repair kit with you to the race and to wear suitable clothing for all weather conditions.
By registering you declare that you are in possession of a valid medical certificate for sporting activity and that you have read these regulations and accept them unconditionally in all points.
By submitting the registration form in any of the forms provided, you declare that you have read the regulations and give your consent to the use of your data, in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Regulation GDPR EU Reg. no. 679/16 and subsequent amendments, corrections and additions. The data requested with the registration will be exclusively processed for normal secretarial activities.
By registering for the race, each participant expressly authorises the organisers, partners and sponsors of the event to use, free of charge, photos, images and videos taken during the event for promotional and communication purposes, including, by way of example, publication on websites, social media, advertising and promotional material, as well as for the promotion of future editions of the event.
